About the event

In honor of Disability Pride Month, join the Gwen Lily Research Foundation for a timely and powerful conversation on advancing health equity for people with physical, intellectual, and invisible disabilities.

While physical accessibility is often emphasized, true equity in healthcare requires more than ramps and elevators. This session will examine the deeper systemic barriers—like ableism, provider bias, policy failures, and communication breakdowns—that prevent differently abled individuals from receiving fair, quality care.

Our expert panel will explore how social determinants of health (SDoH), chronic illness, and intersecting identities, including race, gender, and income, shape health outcomes and access.
